Asphalt driveway replacement
Tear-out and repave when alligator cracking, sinking, or repeat potholes mean the base has failed. The base gets rebuilt, not covered.

Asphalt services
Built from the base up
A new asphalt driveway is a compacted stone base topped with hot-mix asphalt, laid with a paver and rolled while hot. It's the right choice when you're paving a gravel or dirt drive for the first time, adding a driveway to new construction, or widening or extending what you have. Built properly, an asphalt driveway typically lasts 15 to 20 years or more with basic maintenance. We install new driveways across Chester County, Delaware County, the Main Line, and Northern Delaware, from West Chester and Downingtown to Glen Mills and Hockessin.

Common questions
Most residential driveways are paved with 2 to 3 inches of compacted asphalt over a crushed stone base, and the base is typically 6 inches or more depending on soil and how the driveway is used. The base matters more than the asphalt thickness.
Most residential driveways take one to three days, depending on size and how much excavation is needed. The paving itself is often done in a day.
Typically 24 to 72 hours. Keep heavy vehicles off longer, and for the first few weeks in hot weather avoid parking in the same spot or turning the wheel while the car is stopped.
New asphalt needs to cure first, typically 6 to 12 months. We'll tell you when yours is ready.
